Shop cannabis edibles including gummies, chocolates, and beverages for a smoke-free experience.

Smoking isn’t for everyone, and it doesn’t have to be. THC edibles are, as their name suggests, food and drinks that have been infused withcannabis extract, which means no smoke or vapor. Since THC is processed through digestion, edibles tend to hit harder and the effects last longer (from 4 to 8 hours) than with flower or vaporizers.

Types of Cannabis Edibles We Carry

The range of edible formats has expanded a lot in recent years, and at Quality Roots dispensary locations across Michigan and New Jersey, we carry a wide selection, from affordable gummies to premium rosin-infused options.

Format, dosage, and oil type all play a role in how the experience unfolds:

  • Gummies: The most popular format, gummies are easy to dose and carry, and come in a wide range of flavors, potencies, and cannabinoid combinations. Beyond basic THC gummies, there are options that blend CBD, CBG, and CBN.
  • Chocolate and snack treats: Brownies, cookies, chocolate bars, and other familiar snack formats tend to have higher fat content and take a little longer to kick in. But the effects are often described as more full-bodied and longer-lasting.
  • THC syrup: Liquid concentrates you can mix into a drink, take directly, or use however works for you. Because liquid is partially absorbed under the tongue before hitting the digestive system, the onset of effect can be faster than with solid edibles.
  • Beverages: One of the most social ways to consume cannabis, they absorb faster than solid edibles (from 15 to 30 minutes) and are easy to pace. Options include seltzers, lemonades, teas, and other drink formats.
  • Infused candy and novelty formats: Everything that doesn’t fit neatly into the categories above: gummy ropes, single-bite pieces, and other fun, snackable forms. Usually low-cost, single-serving options, perfect for first-time consumers who don’t want to commit to a full pack.

We also carry tinctures for those looking for precise dosing without added sugar or calories. They’re liquid extracts taken under the tongue or added to food and drinks that tend to kick in faster than solid edibles.

How to Choose the Right Edible for You

The rule of thumb with edibles is start low, go slow. For beginners, that means starting with 2.5 mg or 5 mg and giving it two hours before deciding you need more. The most common mistake is dosing again too soon.

If you’ve got some experience and want more from your edibles experience, go with options with a broader cannabinoid profile. Cannabis products that combine THC with CBD, CBN, or CBG can offer a more nuanced effect than THC alone.

Syrups and sodas are great for those who want a drinkable and more social experience, and if you’re avoiding sugar, go with sugar-free options or tinctures.

To make browsing easier, we organized our menu based on effect:

  • Lifted: For uplifting, energizing effects.
  • Balanced: For a mix of indica-like and sativa-like effects.
  • Grounded: For evenings when you want to unwind.
